FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Docia Koonce Maddox, 88, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in Bethesda Health Care in Eastover. Mrs. Maddox was the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude Koonce. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Maddox; five sisters; and three brothers. She retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service; and was a member of Carroll Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Dr. Tryon Lancaster and the Rev. Belinda Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the funeral home. Mrs. Maddox is survived by her sons, Jerry Poston and wife Rebecca of Fayetteville, and Don Poston and wife Carolyn of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Fairlyn and Woody Barrosse, Keith and Vanessa Poston, Shannon Tatum, Todd and Kelda Poston, Ryan and Angela Poston and Lynette Poston; and 12 great-grandchildren.
