Reverend Donald Dwight Dixon, Jr. 66 of Hope Mills passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 surrounded by his loving family in the VA Medical Center in Durham.

Reverend Dixon was born on August 24, 1949 in Camp Hood, Texas to the late Johannah Slack and Donald Dwight Dixon, Sr. Donald was the associate pastor at Antioch Church of God in Fayetteville for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his sister Denise Colston.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Johnson , Rev. Robert Staples, and Rev .O. Wayne Brewer, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Yvonne Dixon of the home; daughters, Rhonda Parker and husband Shawn of Dunn; Shannon Childress and husband Randy of Duncan, S.C.; Crystal Bailey and husband Walter of Laurens, S.C.; Candice Singletary and husband Jeromy of Tar Heel; Veronica Dixon of Hope Mills; Vanessa Dixon of Hope Mills; sisters, Tammy Georgeson and husband Arlyn of Troy, Illinois; Priscilla Baker and husband James of Hope Mills; Donna Thompson and husband Gene of Fayetteville; Anita Rambeaut and husband Travis of Hope Mills; brother-in-law, David Colston of Hope Mills; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
