Donald Ray Smith, 76, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at home.

Don retired from Public Works Commission in 1995.  He loved and played sports, including golf, basketball, baseball and semi-pro baseball.  He was a successful youth baseball coach for several years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Louise McFayden Smith and brother-in-law, Paul Campbell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Underwood Smith, sons Ty (Sharon) and Clint (Dawn), grandchildren, Jessica Cotter (Greg), Jordan, Kennedy, Cooper and Sydney Smith and Meaghan Bates, sister June Campbell, sister-in-law Sandra Daughtry (Cordie), brothers-in-law Eldon Underwood (Charlotte) and Mike Underwood (Karen) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel.  Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10 at the funeral home.
