Obituary

Mrs. Doris Brantley Johnson, 93 of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Village Green Care Center. She was born on October 16, 1920 in Lee County, N.C. to the late Wesley and Ethel Coggins Brantley. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie W. Johnson and brothers Eugene Brantley and Buck Brantley and a sister Kathleen Brantley Slover. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church.She was a member of the Sears Retiree Club. She was a member of Golden Star Wives. Doris was the historian for the Brantley family. Doris was an avid cook and enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 12 noon in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10:30am until 11:45 a.m. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son Clay Johnson and his wife Kathy of Fayetteville; brother Roger Brantley and his wife Linda of Clayton; sister Evelyn Brantley Kelly and her husband Frank of Burlington; grandson Brantley Johnson and sister-in-law Juliette M. Brantley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 201 Anderson St. Fayetteville, N.C. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville, N.C. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10:30am until 11:45 a.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 12 noon in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield, Jr. officiating.
