Mrs. Doris Bullard Utley, 87, of 623 Cape Fear Ave., Fayetteville, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, in Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church cemetery. A visitation will take place from 7 to 9 tonight, Nov. 8, 2007, at the funeral home. Mrs. Utley was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Utley; son, James Douglas Utley; parents, R.W. Bullard and Charlotte Adeline McLaurin; brothers, William Bullard, Charles Bullard, Robert Bullard, George Bullard and Mack Bullard; and sisters, Pearl B. Cain, Janie B. Hall, Sallie B. Holmes and Kathleen B. Beard. She is survived by sons, Phil T. Utley and wife Hilda F. Utley, and W. Lee Utley; daughters, Carolyn U. Waller and husband Freddy, and Mary U. MacLeod and husband John; three grandchildren, Louisa W. Hughes, Christopher D. Utley and David F. Waller; and one great-grandchild, Kaitlynn S. Utley.
