FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Dorothy Spruill Detter, 64, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in her home surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 11a.m. in Cross Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Swinney officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery. Mrs. Detter was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Sr. and Dorothy Spruill; and a daughter, Joelle Dawson Detter. She is survived by her husband, James "Dick" Detter of the home; daughter, Stephanie Detter Purser and husband Tommie of Fayetteville; brother, Vernon L. Spruill Jr. and wife Sue; stepmother, Rosa Spruill of Fayetteville; and granddaughter, Kinsley Purser.
