Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Simmons Faircloth, 88, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Her funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Live Oak United Methodist Church in White Oak, with the Revs. Tim Reaves and Marcia Lancaster officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Faircloth was a member of Live Oak United Methodist Church for most of her life. She was a homemaker, and her legacy will be the love she had and shared for her God, her family, her church and her friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, J.E. "Bud" Faircloth; a son, J.E. Faircloth Jr.; a daughter, Doris Lee Faircloth; and a sister, Doris S. Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce F. Carter and husband Robert of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Jamie Freeman and wife Kari of Fayetteville, Beth Freeman and fiance Seth Greene of Charlotte, John Carter and wife Katie of Wilmore, Ky., Robin Carter of Raeford, and Michael Carter of Hope Mills; and two great-grandchildren, Luke Freeman and James Carter. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, June 25, 2007, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The family asks that memorials be made to Live Oak United Methodist Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund, c/o Jamie Freeman, 6846 Cedar Creek Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
