Dorothy Ella Jernigan Sewell, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.

Ms. Sewell was born on December 5, 1922 in Cumberland County to the late William Ashley Jernigan and Helen Carter Jernigan. She was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Barbry, Sr.

She is survived by daughter, Nancy Crawford (Larry) of Stafford, Va., and son, Ernest Barbry, Jr. (Susan) of Sanford; brother, Ed Jernigan of Carthage; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

A private service is planned.
