Dorothy "Dot" Stevenson Hedgepeth,82, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021.

Dorothy was born December 8, 1938 in Vance County, NC to the late John and Ora Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward Carlton Hedgepeth and a brother, John Thomas Stevenson.

She loved children and taught preschool and kindergarten for many years. She enjoyed working in her church, Grace Baptist Church. Dot worked at Grace Baptist Church Daycare and Guy Schools.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Billy Shaw, officiating. Entombment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2:00 pm.

Dot is survived by her sons, Steven Hedgepeth and wife Karen, Mark Hedgepeth and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Jennifer Chiovaro and husband Zach, Ryan Hedgepeth and wife Heather, Maria and Mark Hedgepeth, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Mason and Maddox Hedgepeth, Zoe, Roman, Olivia Chiovaro; brother ,William "Bill" Perkins Stevenson and wife Cindy; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
