Dorothy Bunce McKeithan, of Fayetteville, NC went to her heavenly home on August 16, 2013. Born in Cumberland County on July 30, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. Bunce & Molcie Matthews Bunce. On April 13, 1941 she married the love of her life, James W. McKeithan at a beautiful home ceremony on Easter Sunday and James's birthday. During their 72 years of marriage they were the perfect team and shared one another's diverse interests. They resided in NC and Marianna, FL. They also enjoyed their Mexico Beach house with family and friends for many years. Dorothy was preceded in death by an infant daughter; brothers Paul Bunce, Howard Bunce, Ted M. Bunce; sisters Oleta B. Griffin & Van B. Porcelli. She is survived by brothers Broadus Bunce, Randall Bunce, Dearl Bunce; sisters Adele B. Johnson and Ettrice B. Strickland. Five children Faye M. Royal of Lumberton NC, Larry J. McKeithan & wife Debbie of Marianna FL, Diane M. Alabaster & husband David of Fayetteville, NC, W. Lynn McKeithan & wife Theresa of Grand Ridge FL, Tami M. Ashworth & husband Steve of Fuquay Varina, NC. Six grandchildren: Wendy R. Gadeberg & husband Doug of Wallace NC, Amanda M. Tyler & husband John of Mobile, AL, Brian McKeithan & wife January of Marianna FL, Lee McKeithan & wife Ashley of Mobile AL, Harrison Ashworth & Catherine Ashworth of Fuquay Varina. Four great- grandchildren: Brice McKeithan, Graham Tyler, Stone Tyler, & Mary Tanner McKeithan. Many nieces & nephews whom she loved. Visitation will be Monday , August 19, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home and at any time at the McKeithan residence. The funeral service will be held Tuesday , August 20, 2013 at 11 AM in the chapel at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Dearl L. Bunce followed by the graveside service at Maxwell Cemetery. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery in Stedman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home at 2111 Clinchfield Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
