Douglas Canders, 69 of Fayetteville, NC passed away in his families home May 10, 2014 after his long battle with pancreatic cancer with his family by his side. Douglas was born on September 12,1944 in Schenectady, NY to the late Paul Canders and Dorothy Canders Palmatier. Douglas Canders is survived by his wife Kimberly Felix Canders, his 2 sons Robert Canders and Michael Canders and wife Cheryl. He is also survived by his brother James Canders and sister-in-law Karen, as well as 4 grand children; D. Kade Canders, Dossen Greigh Canders, Dalton Canders and Harper Canders. Douglas served in the military upon completion of Law school, worked as an attorney for the Fayetteville Police Department, practiced law for his own private practice and finished his career as the assistant county attorney. Services will be held Friday May 16, 2014 with a viewing beginning at 11:30am and services at 1pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 11:30 until 1:00 p.m.
