Duncan Bethune McBryde, Jr., 78, of Raeford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife.

Born on September 25, 1947, in Cumberland County, Duncan was the son of the late Duncan Bethune McBryde, Sr. and Mabel Furmage McBryde.

Duncan retired from Procter & Gamble after 38 years of dedicated service in sales. He was known for his friendly personality, strong work ethic, and the relationships he built throughout his career.

In retirement, Duncan enjoyed spending time on the golf course with his longtime friends and was the last surviving member of his cherished golfing group. He also loved fishing with his buddies, creating countless memories and friendships along the way.

Above all, Duncan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Delia Scott McBryde; his sons, Scott McBryde and wife, Heather of Dunn, NC and Brian McBryde and wife, Leah, of Whispering Pines; grandchildren, Bryce McBryde, Alexis Hurt, Taylor Khan, Chelsey Ballard; Parker Bennett and great grand daughter, Catherine Ballard. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held at at Lafayette Memorial Park.
