Earl William Parker
Fayetteville, NC- Mr. Earl Parker, 90, of Fayetteville, NC and formerly of Biloxi, MS passed away on January 14th at the the NC State Veteran's center in Fayetteville NC. He was born on August 23, 1925 in Biloxi Mississippi to the late Jesse and Lydia Parker.
He was a member of the US Coast Guard/US Navy where he served as a gunner's mate in World War II. He was also a member of the National Guard Reserves and US Army where he served his country for 26+ years until he retired in March 1973.
He is survived by his longtime wife of 67 years, Dorothy Mae Parker of Fayetteville, NC; a daughter Barbara Parker Thomson and Husband, Robert of Fayetteville; a son, Earl Joseph Parker of Natchitoches, LA; and a daughter, Ava Joy Smith of Natchitoches, LA; a sister Gertrude Seymour, Jesse Lee Parker, Dorthea Ellis, all of Biloxi, MS; 8 grandchildren Will and wife Kat, Matt and wife Val, Susan and husband Danny, Ian, Heather and husband Chris, Caleb, Esau and wife Maggie, and Ethan; 16 great grandchildren Dylan, Elizabeth, Kassy, Ginny, Amy, Becky, Bobby Dale, Andrew, Tyler, Mary Jane, Connor, Chloe, Tucker, Gage, Tatum, and Teagan.
A memorial service was held Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 3pm at Saint James Lutheran Church located at 1424 Morganton Road, Fayetteville NC with Pastor John Locke officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the conclusion of the service.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6th at 2pm at Bethel Lutheran Church located on Pass Road, Biloxi, MS with Pastor Barbara Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the conclusion of the service.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2521 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NC State Veteran's Retirement Center located at 214 Cochran Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
