Obituary

Master Sergeant E.C. Cale, US Army Retired, 84, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and a member of Disabled American Veterans. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2009, in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Father Willard Rucinski officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park West with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m Sunday, prior to the service. He is survived by his son, Edward Cale of Apex; daughters, Donna Belcher and husband Daniel of Fayetteville and Jeannie Evans of Raleigh; brothers, Harry Dean Cale of Wilson, Willis E. Cale of Wilson, William Edward Cale of Macclesfield and Lloyd Thomas Cale of Tarboro; three grandsons, Daniel Evans, Christopher Evans and Dustin Belcher; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kyung Ja Cale and his granddaughter, Laura Evans. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 700 Carnegie Drive, Fayetteville NC 28311.
