Eddie A. Westmoreland, Sr. CW4, U.S. Army (Ret). 76

Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday June 27, 2018 Chief Westmoreland retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of honorable service During his years of exemplary military service he served two tours in Vietnam for which he was awarded two Bronze Stars, an Air Medal, and a Legion of Merit. He was additionally awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (7), Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon, Parachute Badge, and Parachute Jumpmaster Badge. After retirement he was employed at Lockheed Martin/L3 Communications for an additional 20 years Chief Westmoreland is preceded in death by his parents Robert MacWilliam and Emma Gene (Madry) Westmoreland; his brother, Henry Lewis Westmoreland; in-laws Homer Ferdinand Sims and Rosa Lee Wimberley. Mr. Eddie A. Westmoreland, Sr. is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Isabelle Westmoreland; sons Eddie A. Westmoreland, Jr., William C. Westmoreland (Sherri) and Anthony L. Westmoreland; daughters Angela L. Mclean (Robert), and Traci L. Westmoreland. Brothers Thomas (Jean) Westmoreland, Elwood (Louise) Westmoreland, James (Rossie) Westmoreland, and sister Mamie Wilson (Westmoreland). Grandchildren Sophia N. Westmoreland, Tanner M Westmoreland, Jordan P. Westmoreland, Tiara Westmoreland; Hazel Westmoreland, William C. Westmoreland, Jr.; Patricia Westmoreland, Jessica Westmoreland (Matt), Stefan A. Westmoreland, Maxwell L. Westmoreland (Shanice), and Embry L. Miles and Great grandchildren. Mr. Westmoreland was a devoted husband, father, family man and dedicated service member (All the way Airborne). Though his physical presence will be missed by all, his gentle soul will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UNC Cancer Center, 101 Manning Dr., Chapel Hill, NC 27599
