ST. LOUIS - Mrs. Edith Chatham \\"Edie\\" Perry, 90, of St. Louis, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010.
Mrs. Perry had the biggest, most compassionate heart, graciously finding a way to help others in their time of need. She found true joy in providing what she could to the sick, be it a meal or a visit.
Before moving to St. Louis in 2003, Edie was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She sang in the choir and had taught Sunday school. She worked for B&B Bowling Lanes prior to her retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville, by Dr. Randy White. The burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Perry.
She is survived by her son, W. Howard Perry and wife, Iris Perry, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Peggy Perry Watts and husband, Dr. Russell Watts, of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Michelle, Stefanie, Robert, Heather, Marcie and Larry; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances C. King of Fayetteville; and three brothers, J.B. Chatham of Angier, N.C., Henry Chatham of Asheville, N.C., and Bobby Chatham of Garner, N.C.
