RAEFORD - Mrs. Edith \\"Christine\\" Hobbs Ray, 82, of Raeford, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. today, Thursday, July 1, 2010, in Galatia Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today at the church in the fellowship hall. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert McLeod Ray. She is survived by her four sons, Gilbert McLeod Ray II and wife Barbara of Fayetteville, Kenneth Eugene Ray and wife Patsy of Fayetteville, Robert Garry Ray and wife Debbie of Laurinburg, and David Allen Ray of Fayetteville; two daughters, Rebecca Ray Irby and husband Ray of Raeford, and Katherine Ray Wicker and husband Henry of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Galatia Presbyterian Church; Children's Miracle Network; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ; or Disabled American Veterans.
