Edna (Bass)
Adair
April 21, 1928 – June 30, 2025
Edna Bass Adair, 97, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025. Born on April 21, 1928, in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late John and Nancy Bass.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married the love of her life, the late Ben Adair, and together they shared 70 beautiful years of marriage. She was a woman of unwavering faith and lived her life with a heart full of love and generosity. For over 70 years, she was a faithful member of C & Adam Street Church of God—later known as Praise Fellowship—where she was active in both service and fellowship.
She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Edna loved to cook and bake for her family, creating meals that brought everyone together. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers, and she had a special talent for sewing and knitting. Her warm spirit and strong faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ben Adair; seven siblings; and her cherished granddaughters, Maegan Carol Adair, Ashlea Peacock, Jessica Vinson, and Marcia Adair-Davis, who passed away less than 48 hours before her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her children: Russ Adair (Carol), Ben Adair, Jr. (Rita), Donna Adair, and Greg Adair (Rhonda); her sister, Annostine Hall; her grandchildren: Ryan Adair, Jonathan Adair (Charity), Jeremy Adair (Sarah), Devin Adair (Paige), and Kyle Adair (Kasey); as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Praise Fellowship Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park.
Her life was a testament to love, faith, and family—and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
