Edna Earl Jackson Sommerhof, 85, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Edna was born on August 18, 1938, in Robeson County to the late Roan Jackson and Sarah Katherine Hunt Jackson. She received two master's degrees, however she became a hairdresser and made that her career. She loved to can her own vegetables, sew, and help others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 1-1:50 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Thomas Sommerhof and her siblings, Glenda Johnson and George Jacobs.

Although Edna had no children of her own, she shared her life with her bonus daughter, Yvonne Monroe; bonus grandchildren, Milissa, Brad and Allen; bonus great grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Chrisdiona, Alessia, Frankie, Alanna, and one bonus great great grandson, Korbin.
