Mrs. Edra Oakley Cain, 92, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 17, 2013, at Westchester Manor in High Point. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2013, 11 am at First Baptist Church with Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield, Jr. presiding. The burial will follow at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in White Oak. Edra was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elwood "Bill" Cain, Her Parents, George and Beatrice Oakley and her brother, LeRoy Oakley. She is survived by her son, Elwood S. "Woodie" Cain, Jr. and wife, Sandra, of High Point; daughter, Pamela Cain Sutton and husband, Jim, of Charlotte; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Cain Thompson and husband, Freiler, Victoria Sutton, Michael Cain, Savanna Sutton, and Kristin Cain; great-granddaughter, Addison Cain; and 4 sisters, Myrtle Carter of Fayetteville, Ethelyn Page of Fayetteville, Leila Lancaster of Hope Mills, and Patricia Willis of St. Pauls. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
