Edward C. Hedgepeth -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edward Carlton Hedgepeth, 72, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Hedgepeth was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was also an Air Force veteran. He retired from Sprint after 36 years of service and was a former district network switching manager. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Woodall officiating. Entombment will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Hedgepeth is survived his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Stevenson Hedgepeth of the home; son, Steven K. Hedgepeth and wife Karen of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Mark E. Hedgepeth and wife Elizabeth of Los Angeles; two grandchildren, Ryan and Jennifer; and two brothers, Leo Hedgepeth of Rocky Mount and William Herbert Hedgepeth of Elizabeth City.
