Edward "Ed" Wayne Matteson, 61, passed away August 6th, 2010 at his home.
Ed was one of six children born to the late Lewis Edward & Winifred Rose Matteson and was the beloved husband of Brigitte Fiedler Matteson for over 38 years. He will be forever remembered by his devoted daughters: Sherry and husband Stanley Abercrombie of Plant City FL, Tabatha and husband Alvaro Duran of Palmyra, WI, Winifred and husband Ray Jenkins and Suzanna and husband Clint Chastain, both of Fayetteville, NC; his loving sisters: Dorene Culp of Peoria, IL, Connie Guilfoyle of Battle Creek, MI, Anita Alderton of Mattoon, IL, and Latricia Ballard of Lillington, NC; caring brother Lewis \\"Tunie\\" Matteson of Peoria, IL; treasured grandchildren: Brigitte Torres, Josh Cartrette, Billy Buford Jr., Courtney Buford, Mahera Abu-Seif, Caitlin Chastain, Zachary Jenkins, Johnathan Davis, and Melaina Davis; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
He is preceded by his death by his parents, Lewis Edward & Winifred Rose Matteson and one granddaughter, Nadia Abu-Seif.
Ed was born in Charleston, IL on June 9, 1949. He is an Army veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. After his Army service, he began a 29 year career with Kelly Springfield/Goodyear. During his service there, he developed many procedures that resulted in numerous quality awards for production optimization and reducing material waste and was awarded several safety accolades for his work to ensure a safe workplace. He retired in 2001.
