Mr. Edward Lacy McDonald, 80 of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in his residence surrounded by his family. He retired from Black & Decker after 32 years. Mr. McDonald was a faithful member of Lafayette Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by brothers Buddy McDonald , Maurice McDonald, Tom McDonald, Cyrus McDonald and sisters Betty Ruth McDuffie, Lener Carter, Hetty Whaley and a great-granddaughter Elizabeth Dianne Hash. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00p.m. in Lafayette Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife Helen Davis McDonald of the home; daughter Elizabeth Diane Harrow and husband Robin of Fayetteville; sister Elmaze Weeks of Eastover; granddaughter Amanda Hash and husband Jeff; great-granddaughter Alexis Hash. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lafayette Baptist Church 501 Hope Mills Rd. Fayetteville, N.C. 28304.
