Edythe Tesler Baer, 99, passed away peacefully in Raleigh, NC on May 13, 2018. She was born in Atlanta, GA to Jenny and Abraham Tesler on May 4, 1919. She grew up in Atlanta and later moved to Wilson, NC where she married her dear husband Robert Baer who was from Dunn, NC. Edythe lived in Dunn for 34 years and moved to Fayetteville, where she lived for 32 years. She spent her last 6 years in Raleigh. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.Edythe had an incredible zest for life, a wonderful sense of humor and was always young at heart. She loved working in the familly business, E. Baer and Sons Furniture in Dunn, NC. She also enjoyed UNC Tarheel basketball and watching her beloved Atlanta Braves. "Big Mama," as she was known, was adored by many friends and relatives throughout her life.She is survived by her son, Richard Baer and his wife, Shila Baer, grandson Elliott Baer,and his wife Nicole Klein, granddaughter Gerri Baer, and her husband, Danny Isaac. She is survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Jonah, Reid, and Madeleine Baer and Alexandra and Arielle Isaac. She is also survived by her step-grandsons, Phillip Elden and Shain Elden and their families.She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Baer, her son, Melvin Baer and his wife, Barbara Baer, her parents, and her five siblings.A graveside service will be held at Beth Israel Cemetary, Gale St, Fayetteville, NC on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 12:00 noon.
