Elbert Dewey \\"Buddy\\" Calhoun, Jr., 65, of Fayetteville, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, in his home. Buddy was born Sept. 23, 1941, in Fayetteville. He was the son of Rubelle Thornton Calhoun and Elbert Dewey Calhoun Sr. He was an Army veteran and a member of John Huske Anderson Masonic Lodge No. 731. He was also the owner of Calhoun Construction. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday in Jernigan Warren Chapel. Burial will follow at Big Rockfish Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3 pm. He was preceded in death by his mother and his sister, Janet Calhoun Kuhn, both of Fayetteville. He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Christine Jackson Smith; his father, Elbert D. Calhoun Sr. and his brother, John Calhoun, both of Fayetteville; a brother, Charles Calhoun of Wilmington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
