Fayetteville, NC- Mrs. Elizabeth (Libby) B. Edwards, 90, was joyfully received by her Heavenly Father with open arms Tuesday evening, October 13, 2015.
Libby requested that no tears be shed but rather a joyful celebration be held as she is at home with her Heavenly Father. Therefore, a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10 am in Jernigan Warren Chapel with her cousin, Rev. J.P. Harris presiding. A graveside service will follow at Fair View Cemetery in Franklinton, NC at 3 pm.
Libby was a passionate and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she lived out her faith daily and boldly shared it with all she knew. She was an active member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church of Fayetteville, NC. Libby was a God-fearing woman and she loved to read and study God's Word. She had been a member of Bible Study Fellowship for years, and spent many weeks at The Cove, Billy Graham's Training Center. She desired more than anything else to know that her loved ones had a committed relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and to see them living out their faith in action. Libby was a kind, loving, generous mother, grandma, GG, and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her family rejoices in knowing they will see her again in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. Edwards.
She is survived by her son, Larry T. Edwards and wife Ethel, of Bunnlevel, NC; daughters, Starlett Baine and husband Bill, of Panama City, FL and Brenda Cain and husband Sammy, of Fayetteville, NC; 7 grandchildren, Chuck Baine, Angela Baine Kerr, William Baine, Ann Edwards Hobbs, Nancy Edwards Chilton, Johnny Cain, Hollie Carter; and 14 great-grandchildren, John and Corey Synychak, Courtney Baine Brown, Charlie and Natalie Baine, Liam Baine, Ben, Garrett, and Will Hobbs, Luke and Jett Chilton, Justin Collins, Aiyana and Elijah Carter. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
