Elizabeth D. Baker FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Elizabeth Dix Baker, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family. "Her children arise up and call her blessed…" Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Lucas and the Rev. Al Hunt Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 3 to 4 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Elma Dix; and brothers, William and Harold Dix. Mrs. Baker is survived by her son, Nathan A. Baker and wife Dana of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughters, Glenda Piekarski-Hunt and husband Al Jr. of Fayetteville, Frieda Baker Lockamy and husband Raeford of Hope Mills, and Dianne Baker Nielesen and husband Nicholas of Edmond, Okla.; sisters, Dorothy Hair of Dunn, Patsy Butler of Fayetteville, and Callie Sue Strickland of Groveland, Fla.; and brother, J.P. Dix of Reidsville, 13 grandchildren, Jason A. Piekarski, Kevin C. Piekarski, Lucas M. Piekarski, Daniel F. Piekarski, Tamara D. Baker, Nathan A. Baker, Jr., Erin B. Lockamy-O'Neal, Leann Marie Lockamy, Seth T. Lockamy, Rachel M. Yanez, Benjamin W. Kitchens, Hannah J. Nielesen and Jacob R. Nielesen; and 19 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association; Community Home Care & Hospice, 5301 Morganton Road, Fayetteville, NC 28314; or charity of your choice.
