Mrs. ElmazeMcDonald Weeks passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014.

She was bornNovember 1, 1923 in Stedman to the late Eppie Don McDonald and Minnie AugustaAveritt McDonald.She was preceded indeath by her husband of fifty-nine years, Julious Floyd "Doc" Weeks; brothers,Cyrus McDonald, Thomas McDonald, James McDonald, Dennis McDonald, MorrisMcDonald and Lacy McDonald; and sisters, Hetty Whaley, Lena Carter and BettyMcDuffie.

She issurvived by her son, Arthur Weeks and wife, Donna, of Eastover; grandson,Nathan "Ned" Weeks of Eastover, and many nieces and nephews.

Throughoutthe community, Elmaze was loved as a generous and compassionate neighbor andfriend.She was an active member ofSunnyside Presbyterian Church, where she served as choir member, taught Sundayschool, directed youth activities, held offices in the Women of the Church andreceived the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership Award.Her faith in God and faithful service to Him,love for her family and friends, and warm and uplifting personality and smilewill be missed by all who knew her.

A funeralservice will be held at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,December 1, 2014, with burial following in Lafayette Memorial Park.The family will receive friends one hourprior to the service.

In lieu offlowers, memorial contributions may be made to SunnysidePresbyterian Church, 3997 Sunnyside School Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.

The familywishes to express deep appreciation to caregiver and special friend, HelenColeman, and to the staff of the Hope Mills Retirement Center.
