Elsie Carter Pitts, 91 of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021.

Elsie was born on February 26, 1930, in Wilmington, to the late Eric and Martha Vance Carter. She was a nursing graduate of James Walker Memorial Hospital and a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Herrmann, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Friday in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service in the Gathering Hall at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Pitts, Sr.

She was a loving wife, mother, and aunt. She is survived by her son, Thomas E. Pitts, Jr., of Mars Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
