Mrs.Elsie Roberta Prutzman Czubek, 87, passed away at her daughter's home in Raleigh, with her family beside her on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Preceded in death are her husband of 54 years, Henry P. Czubek, and daughter Elizabeth Rose Czubek. She is survived by son, Henry P. Czubek Jr. of Greenville, S.C., daughter, Roberta C. Powell and son in law, Lawrence B. Powell of Raleigh, N.C., grandsons, Nathan L. Powell and David R. Powell of Raleigh, N.C. Born February 9, 1925 to Ervin Henry Prutzman and Rose Casterline Prutzman in Laurel Run Borough, Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, she moved south with her husband when he joined the 82nd Airborne Division. A loving wife, mother and Nana, Elsie was an avid gardener who enjoyed, reading, painting, quilting, and needle point. Earlier in her life, Elsie did volunteer work for the Red Cross; was in the first training class for Contact, serving 7 years; volunteered for Neighborhood Services and Council for Older Adults. She was a member of St. Michael Archangel Maronite Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Friday March 9, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral home. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Michael Archangel Catholic Church, 806 Arsenal Avenue, Fayetteville, N.C. with internment to follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607. Visitation: Friday March 9, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Jernigan Warren. Funeral: Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Michael Archangel Catholic Church, 806 Arsenal Avenue. Burial: Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street
