Mrs. Elsie Horne Gibbs, 73, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, October 7, 2007. Funeral services for Mrs. Gibbs will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at 3 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Sam Gore officiating. The burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. She was a retired employee of A&P Grocery Stores after 27 years and Kinlaw Supermarket after 20 years. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Gibbs McLeod of Fayetteville; three sisters, Dollie Davenport of Fayetteville, Julia Starling of Fayetteville, and Mildred Brisson of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Calvin Edson LaFrance, Jr. of Clayton; She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Gibbs. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday evening at Jernigan Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Cancer Center or to one's favorite charity.
