AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at University Hospital, Mrs. Emma Overby Faircloth, 90, of Augusta.
Mrs. Faircloth was a native of Fayetteville, N.C., and was happily raised in the Methodist Children's Home in Raleigh, N.C.
With her beloved husband, Kenneth Owen Faircloth, she owned and operated Queen Anne Florist in Fayetteville. After retirement, she worked as a secretary for Haymount United Methodist Church. Mrs. Faircloth was a devout Christian and very active in the Methodist Church throughout her life.
After moving to Augusta in 1995, she enjoyed her time at St. John Towers and was most recently a member of St. John United Methodist Church.
Family members in addition to her late husband include daughters, Janet and husband Charles D. Kirkey of Evans, Ga., Gwen Wert of Littleton, Colo., and Peggy and husband Thomas J. Daniel of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, the late Alice George and the late Minnie Lee Davis; brother, the late Jack Overby; sisters-in-law, Hazel Faircloth Clark and Rachel McDaniel Faircloth; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, in Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, with the Rev. Woody Wells officiating.
