FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Ernestine Bartlett Cain, 84, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Cain was a dental assistant, trained on Fort Bragg. She was an active and faithful church member and volunteered in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Cain. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, in Campground United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Haywood Smith. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. She is survived by sons, Joel Douglas Cain and wife Sheila of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Calvin Bartlett Cain of Lynchburg, Va.; grandchildren, Michael Cain, Bobby Cain, Daniel Cain and Anneka Cain; great-grandchildren, Haley Cain, Emily Cain and Skylar Cain; and brother-in-law, Arthur Reece Cain of Fayetteville.
