FAYETTEVILLE- Estelle Jordan Guin, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, January 8, 2012.
She was born July 3, 1923 and was raised in Cumberland County. An extraordinary cook, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and playing games, especially word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and John Jordan; brother, Miles Jordan; sisters, Virginia Hudson and Marie McKay; and husband of 58 years, Lester Guin.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Guin (Nancy) and Ruth Harris (Roland "Butch"); brother Johnny Jordan; sister Bea Cooper; grandchildren Michael Guin, Christopher Guin, Steven Guin, Jennifer McLean, Aaron Guin, and Ginger Wilson; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The family wishes to thank the Hope Mills Retirement Center and its staff for their care and kindness.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at Lafayette Memorial Park at 11 am, weather permitting with the Reverend A. Edward Beddingfield officiating. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Anderson and Old Street, Fayetteville .
GRAVESIDE: Wednesday, January 11 at 11AM, Lafayette Memorial Park (Ramsey St.)
If there is inclement weather, the service will be held at the Funeral Home at the same time, there will be Funeral Home Representatives at the cemetery to inform people if this is the case.
