EASTOVER - Mrs. Esther Sessoms McLaurin, 92, of 3036 Beard Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, in Salem United Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Snotherly and the Rev. Mary Frances McClure officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Mrs. McLaurin was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church. She retired as a cafeteria manager with the Cumberland County school system. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil McLaurin; a son, Franklin \\"Duck\\" McLaurin; a daughter, Elaine M. Walters; brothers, Alexander Sessoms and Jimmy Sessoms; and sisters, Pluma Hendrix and Catherine Culbreth. Mrs. McLaurin is survived by her son, Jerry Wayne McLaurin of Fayetteville; daughters, Nancy M. West of Eastover and Janice M. Draughon of Fayetteville; sisters, Clara Beard of Fayetteville and Don Williams of Hope Mills; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
