Ethel West Melvin, 94 of Wade, died Friday, May 25, 2018.

Ethel was a member of Journey Church in Eastover and worked as a nurse's assistant for 30 years with Highsmith-Rainey Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 Tuesday prior to the service at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Mrs. Melvin was preceded in death by her husband, David Melvin; daughter, Hilda Dudley; brothers, Carl, Linwood, Bradley, Eddie, Jr., and Arby West; sister, Grace Mintz. Surviving are her son, David C. Melvin Jr. and wife Donna; daughter, Faye Lucas and husband Jimmy; sister, Eva Kate Edge; grandchildren, Tammy Stoeckley, Stephen Lucas, Brance Dudley, Wayne Dudley and Craig Melvin; 2 great grandchildren, Austin Dudley and Garrett Melvin.
