Etrue Matthews Piner, 84, of Fayetteville, NC passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at The Harmony at Hope Mills.

Etrue was born May 8, 1937 in Cumberland County, NC to the late Eva and Oliver Matthews. She was a retired employee with Carolina Telephone. She was a member of  Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held at Jernigan-Warren Chapel on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her beloved  husband of 66 years,  Duke J. "Pete" Piner; daughters, Deborah Lynn Davis, Cynthia Renee Richardson and husband William; son, Duke Jackson Piner, Jr. and wife Keri; sister, Mary Jane Erne; brother, Robert Allan Matthews;  grandchildren, Bradley Harris, Michael J. Gonzales, Lindsey Davis, Emma Grace Piner, Rachael Richardson, Peyton and Garrett Vinson,  and 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Massey Hill Baptist Church, 1027 Southern Ave., Fayetteville, NC 28306.
