Etta Honeycutt Moody passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012, after a long illness. She was 91. She was born May 31, 1921, in Cumberland County near Stedman to the late George Benton Honeycutt and Martha Ann Honeycutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Howard Moody, Sr. in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her five sisters and one brother: Emily Dorsey of Louisburg and Tressie Core, Mary Graham, Georgia Autry, Reba Honeycutt, and Wiley Honeycutt of Cumberland County. She is survived by two sisters, Nellie Honeycutt Hamilton of Stedman and Beulah Honeycutt Pleasants of Pawleys Island, SC; a daughter, Doris Fort and husband, Samuel, of Hope Mills; a son, Ray Howard Moody, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Fort Jones, CA; a granddaughter, Laura Linton and husband, Daniel, of Apex, NC; a grandson, Travis Moody and wife, Sara, of Castle Rock, CO; two step-grandsons, David Fort of Church Road, VA, and Gerry Miller and wife, Melissa, of Bennington, VT; great-grandchildren, Catherine, Connor and Michelle Linton, Dillon and Ashley Moody, Emma, Graeme, James, Pearce and Daniel Howard Miller. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012, in Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Whitfield presiding. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 pm in the church fellowship hall and also immediately after the burial service. Memorials may be made to Magnolia Baptist Church, 1021 Magnolia Church Road, Stedman NC 28391.
