FAYETTEVILLE- Mrs. Evelyn Alphin Carter, 85 of 2301 Cleveland Ave. died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Carter was a devoted member of Judson Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for many years. She was a Christian Lady, devoted to her family, friends, and church throughout her life. Mrs. Carter was born in Eastover on August 4, 1926 to the Late Lillian Culbreth and Hersey McLaurin. She was a graduate of Central High School in Eastover.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Dr. Barry Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Judson Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Wednesday, January 2, 2012 from 1-2 p.m.
Survivors: son, Donnie Alphin and wife Betty of Fayetteville, daughters: Diane Bunce and husband Harold of Fairfax, Va. Sandra Stoltzfus of Fayetteville. Grandchildren: Troy Alphin, Corey Alphin, April Alphin, Stephanie Bunce , Oliver Bunce, Andrew Stoltzfus, Matthew Stoltzfus, Jason Alphin, Candice Alphin, Chris Alphin.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Oliver Hartman Alphin, Jr. and A. B. "Bain" Carter, son, Gary Alphin, Brother, Merel McLaurin, and a sister, Mildred Owen.

Visitation - 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral - 2:00pm at the Jernigan-Warren Chapel
burial will follow in Judson Baptist church cemetery.
