Mrs. Evelyn Reaves Sutton, 90, of Sanford, formerly of Fayetteville, died early morning March 28, 2012, in the Parkview Rest and Retirement. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 to 11 am at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the Jernigan Warren Chapel. A private family entombment will take place later that day in Goldsboro. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, James Ira Sutton, Sr.; and a sister, Virginia Knowles of Burgaw. She is survived by her two sons, Rev. James Ira Sutton, Jr. and wife Mary Lynn of Sanford and Norman Gray Sutton and wife Susan of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Todd Sutton and wife Abby of Greensboro, Amy Sutton of Sanford, and Samantha Sutton of Fayetteville; two great-grandchildren, Lola and Jett Sutton of Greensboro; and three sisters, Edna Merritt of Warsaw, Alice Faulk of Mt. Olive and Jean Rogers of Mt. Olive. The family asks that memorials be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1313 Cool Springs Road, Sanford NC 27330.
