Everrett Dewitt "Buck" Holmes 85, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday April 9, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Nick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Dewitt attended school in Cumberland County. He was A salesman and partner with the Fayetteville Cigar and Candy co. He was preceded in death by his parents Stacy Dewitt Holmes and Ethel Lee Everett Holmes, siblings, Stacy Milton Holmes, Harold Douglas Holmes, Austin Reese Holmes, Madelaine Holmes Carr, Lucille Holmes Winkler, La Gray Holmes Lipscomb, Carolyn Holmes Mayancsik He is survived by his siblings, William Burkett Holmes of Kennewick, Washington, Bobby Lee Holmes of Pensacola, Florida, Betty Ann Holmes Smith of Fayetteville and eighteen nieces and nephews. Memorials in lieu of flowers: Hay Street United Methodist Church and Hospice of Cumberland County Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 from 10:30am to 11:00am at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, Followed by a service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am Followed by a burial at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street
