Obituary

Faye Dail Ross, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Fayetteville, NC on Monday, July 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen D. Ross and is survived by her four children: Allen D. Ross, Jr. of Raleigh; David F. Ross of Morehead City; Cindy Ross Pope and husband David (Mack) of Franklin, TN; and Mark J. Ross and wife Kiki of Gainesville, VA as well as her brothers John Dail, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Edenton; Robert Dail and wife Mary Louise (Neese) of Fayetteville; and her sister Mina Ruth Miller of Kinston. She was also preceded in death by her sister Julia Marie Harris of Richmond, VA and her brother C. Frank and surviving wife Phoebe Dail of Greenville. She is also survived by cherished grandchildren Elizabeth Pope Goodwin and husband John Goodwin and Katherine Pope of Tennessee and Kathleen, Allen, Sarah, and John Ross of Virginia as well as many other loving family members and friends. Mrs. Ross was born in Wheat Swamp, NC in Lenoir County. She met Allen while attending Atlantic Christian College (Barton College). They were married in 1953 and moved to Tarboro. In 1972, they moved to Murfreesboro, TN and then moved back to North Carolina in 1985 and settled in Fayetteville where she became very active in her church, the local bowling league, and many bridge clubs. She was a Life Master Bridge player. Many will always remember her for the warmth and joy she brought, not only in the wonderful food she served, but in her wonderful and loving spirit. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2pm, in Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Sarah Smith Pitts, officiating. Burial in Lafayette Memorial Park West. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 6974 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, N.C. 28304. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2pm, in Trinity United Methodist Church, Burial in Lafayette Memorial Park West. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday in the church.
