Mrs. Florence C. Roberts, 81, of Wake Forest, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday, July 31, at Hillside Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2006, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Bradley Smith officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Roberts was a native of Fayetteville and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a retired auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred A. & Nina Adcox Cole; her sisters, Lois Finch and Lucille Bradshaw; and a brother, Fred A. Cole, Jr. She is survived by two sons, John G. Roberts and his wife, Liz, of Wake Forest, and James S. Roberts and his wife, Alice, of Niceville, Florida; a sister, Doris Dallas of Fayetteville; a brother, Bob Cole of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Stuart Roberts and Amy Roberts; and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Anderson Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10 to 11 am in the Memorial Lounge at First Baptist Church.
