Retired Sergeant Major Floyd Carl Burwick, Jr., 63, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 in his home in Fayetteville, NC
He was born in St. Charles, Virginia on February 8, 1952 & attended Rhea County High School Class of 1970, in 1972 he joined the Military & went to Excelsior College, class of 2001. He served his country 30 Years. 17 of that service was served in Foreign Services. After retirement of the military he worked for the United States Postal Service in Korea & retired in 2010 to his home in Fayetteville, NC. Floyd was a deacon of his church in Korea and a loving & caring person.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Floyd Carl Burwick, Mother, Nell Rose Carter Burwick & sisters, Thelma, Doris, Rebah, Josephine, Nettie, Shirley, Sally, Brenda & Sharon and brothers, Samuel & Curtis.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 12:30 P.M. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2pm in Sandhills State Veteran's Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 5, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Sun Im Burwick of the home, Surviving brothers are Donald Burwick of Cinn, Oh, Douglas Carter of Dayton, TN, Millard (Bill) Carter (wife Susie) of Lookout MT, GA, Johnny Burwick (wife Debbie) of Dayton, TN, Isaac (Ikey) Burwick (wife Sue ) of Dayton, TN
