Floyd "Butch" Leroy Trimmer, 81, of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the V.A. Hospital Hospice Care.
Butch was born on July 24, 1942, in Macon, Illinois to the late Orville Leonard Trimmer and Helen Margaret Annin.
After 32 years of service, he retired from the U.S. Army as a Colonel and served with the Special Forces.
The family will receive friends at Village Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 1 – 1:50 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m.
Burial will be held at Main Post Cemetery on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11;00 a.m. with Military Honors.
Butch was preceded in death by his son Michael Trimmer and his sister, Judy Trimmer.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carol Brock Trimmer; daughter, Laura Reagan and husband Jack; granddaughter, Kyleigh Reagan; stepchildren, Richard Chandler and wife Marlene, Lori Tomberlin and husband Justin; grandchildren, Amber Weaver, Allyson Weaver, Blace Tomberlin, Nicholas Chandler, McKayla Spurgeon; niece, Sheila Munjoy and 4 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children..
