Mrs. Frances Hensdale Autry, 83, of 405 Forsythe St., Fayetteville, formerly of 1203 Longleaf Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in the Carolina Inn at Village Green. Mrs. Autry was a member of Haymount United Methodist Church, the Cotillion Club and the Literary Club and was a former member of the Town & Country Garden Club. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, in Haymount United Methodist Church with the Rev. Woody Wells officiating. Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mrs. Autry is survived by her husband, Von Autry; a son, Von Craig Autry and wife Lisa; a daughter, Kay Autry Purser and husband the Rev. Canon J. Philip Purser; four grandchildren, Michael Brooks Autry, John Taylor Autry, Mary Hampton Lovekamp and husband Dr. Joshua J. Lovekamp, and David Wentworth Purser and wife Shannon; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Autry Lovekamp and Lainey Dale Purser; a brother, Richard L. "Dick" Hensdale and wife Raye King; a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Hensdale Gardner; two nephews, Wayne Hensdale Gardner and John Hensdale Gardner; and three nieces, Anne Hensdale Hudgens, Jane Hensdale Raney and Jill Hensdale Shipp. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hensdale Scholarship Fund, c/o Methodist University Office of Development, 5400 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28311; or to Haymount United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1700 Fort Bragg Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303.
