Frances M. Black, 81, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her residence.

Frances was born on October 2, 1939 in Caroleen, N.C.  to the late James S. and Elizabeth Small Mahaffee.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian church and she retired from Civil Service at Ft. Bragg as a Health Associate.

Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Mahaffee;  brothers, Charles R. Mahaffee, M. Brooks Mahaffee and James S. Mahaffee, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles W. Black; son, Charles W. Black, Jr. and wife, Lori; daughter, Sherry E. Black; grandchildren, Melissa Haynes and husband Jason, and Charles "Chuck" Black; great grandchildren, Emma Haynes, and Allison Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
