Mrs. Frances Johnson "Nan" Ciampa, 86, of Fayetteville died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 11 am in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Shugrue officiating. The burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 am Wednesday at St. Patrick in the Social Hall. Frances Lorraine Johnson was born in Fayetteville NC in 1922 and made it her residence all of her life. She was the Fayetteville High School Valedictorian, Class of 1941. After high school, she met and married a young serviceman from Boston, Guy Arthur Ciampa, and they were inseparable for 54 years of marriage. Know from then on as Nan Ciampa, she loved the Army life, traveling and seeing new places, and she became comfortable with whichever culture she encountered. She was good to people, quick with a smile, eager to help and easy to make friends. Her beloved husband Guy died in 1996 and she made the most of her time left by enriching everyone else
