Mrs. Frances Duckworth Rose, 90, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, in Carolina Suites at Village Green. She was the widow of Charles G. Rose, Jr., a former mayor of Fayetteville. She was also the mother of Congressman Charlie Rose. Mrs. Rose was a long-time active member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Fayetteville Garden Club and the Highland Book Club. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John W. Coker officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Cross Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church parlor at First Presbyterian Church on Monday from 12:30 to 2 pm. Mrs. Rose is survived by a son, the Rev. Dr. William Frederick Rose of Richmond, Va., Charlie Rose of Marshall, Va., and a daughter, Irene R. Owen of Richmond; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 102 Ann Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
