Miss Frances Royal, known to all as Aunt Frances, 99, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026 in her “home” at Wesley Woods surrounded by her loved ones. 

Frances was born on June 1, 1927 in Cumberland County to the late Lillie Geddie and Deroy “Walter” Walden Royal. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was a young girl at Center Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Lillie Geddie and Deroy “Walter” Walden Royal; brothers, Carlyle, Spurgeon and Donald Royal; sisters, Roberta Royal, Virginia Dare Royal, Sadie Rae Fields and Ettrice Walker. 

Graveside funeral and burial services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Royal Cemetery in Wade, N.C. with Gary Neal Royal and George Alan Royal, two of her nephews, officiating. A meal for the family will be held at Center Baptist Fellowship following the service.

Frances is survived by her brother, Robert “Glenn” Royal and his wife Barbara of Fayetteville, Georgia. She is also survived by so many dearly loved nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren who were truly the joy of her life. She is also survived by many at Wesley Woods who became “family” to her where she lived the last 10+ years of her life. The family would like to give special “thank you” to her loved staff and caregivers at Wesley Woods.
